Overview

  • Drive strategic business development initiatives within a prominent legal firm, focusing on growth and client acquisition.
  • Collaborate with senior partners to align marketing strategies with organizational goals and industry trends.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance client engagement and portfolio visibility.
  • Lead the preparation of compelling pitch materials, RFP responses, and presentations for high-value opportunities.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to foster professional growth and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee budget planning and ROI analysis for business development activities.
  • Collaborate across departments to create impactful marketing content and events.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Partner with practice leaders to identify and execute growth opportunities within key legal sectors.
  • Prepare and refine business development materials to support client acquisition efforts.
  • Conduct in-depth research on market dynamics and client needs to shape strategies.
  • Mentor junior staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and consistent project quality.
  • Manage budgets for business development initiatives, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Coordinate onboarding and integration processes for lateral hires into business development frameworks.
  • Develop marketing collateral and oversee submissions for industry recognition.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to enhance visibility and reputation of portfolios.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (J.D., MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years in marketing, business development, or client services, ideally within a legal firm.
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, client relationship management, and pitch preparation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/database systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with senior professionals.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement, commuting to the office 3-4 days per week.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior staff within collaborative environments.
