Job Description

Overview

  • Lead strategic accounting operations and oversee financial closing and consolidation processes for a prominent organization.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Drive process improvements and establish efficient reporting frameworks across divisions.
  • Collaborate with divisional financial management and corporate departments to align strategies.
  • Act as the primary liaison for external audits, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Monitor and implement new accounting pronouncements, updating policies and practices accordingly.
  • Contribute to organizational strategy by setting team goals and managing budgets effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct daily accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial policies and practices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close processes.
  • Establish reporting timeframes and requirements for all divisions, driving process improvements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting principles and financial reporting rules.
  • Manage audit requests, maintaining a strong control environment to prevent errors.
  • Lead and mentor accounting managers and staff, fostering professional development.
  • Collaborate with divisional management and corporate departments to align financial strategies.
  • Utilize advanced systems and tools like Oracle R12 and Hyperion for financial operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; CPA certification required, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting management.
  • Proven expertise in GAAP compliance and financial reporting rules.
  • Experience with Oracle R12, Hyperion, and advanced Excel; Google Workspace familiarity is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Extensive audit experience, including revenue recognition and lease accounting.
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards is advantageous.
