Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage bi-weekly, multi-state payroll processes for a large employee base, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee payroll tax registrations, filings, payments, and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Maintain payroll systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and confidentiality while identifying opportunities for automation.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for financial close activities.
- Train and develop payroll staff, establishing performance goals and ensuring high levels of customer service.
- Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve payroll-related matters efficiently.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to payroll expenses and workforce costs.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of progressive payroll experience.
- 3+ years of multi-state payroll management and leadership experience.
- Proficiency in payroll systems like Rippling, ADP, and ERP platforms such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct.
- Advanced knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and maintain high attention to detail.
- Preferred certifications: SHRM-CP, Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
- Ability to travel and work on-site as needed to meet business requirements.
