Job Description

Overview

  • Support the tax affairs of high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and personal investment entities within a dynamic tax department.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms, estate-planning counsel, trustees, and advisors to ensure accurate and compliant tax management.
  • Oversee tax compliance, planning strategies, and reporting for complex financial structures and multi-jurisdictional entities.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes for tax reporting, document management, and internal controls.
  • Monitor tax law developments and evaluate planning opportunities to optimize tax strategies.
  • Coordinate annual tax projections, estimated payments, and cash planning for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Participate in strategic tax initiatives, succession planning, and special projects related to family office operations.
  • Provide expert guidance on entity structuring, investment tax considerations, and private transaction planning.
  • Enhance workflows using advanced technology tools, including AI, to improve efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate and manage tax compliance for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and related entities.
  • Assist in estate, gift, and trust planning strategy implementation and administration.
  • Review tax returns prepared by external accounting firms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with external advisors, attorneys, and trustees on wealth planning matters.
  • Monitor tax law changes and evaluate their impact on planning opportunities.
  • Coordinate tax projections, estimated payments, and cash planning activities.
  • Support trust distributions, gift tax reporting, and wealth transfer initiatives.
  • Maintain tax calendars, filing deadlines, and documentation across jurisdictions.
  • Develop and improve internal processes for tax reporting and document management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation; Master's in Taxation preferred.
  • CPA license strongly preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in Private Client Services, High Net Worth Tax, or Family Office.
  • Expertise in individual, estate, gift, GST, trust, and fiduciary tax.
  • Familiarity with hedge fund/asset management flow-through pickup preferred.
  • Advanced technology skills, including Excel and AI tools for tax workflows.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
