Overview
- Contribute to the financial operations of a leading organization as a Staff Accountant specializing in royalty accounting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate royalty calculations and compliance with licensing agreements.
- Develop expertise in royalty accounting processes, including reconciliation, reporting, and contract analysis.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to royalty accounting.
- Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Participate in external audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare monthly and quarterly royalty calculations in compliance with licensing agreements.
- Reconcile royalty-related accounts, investigating discrepancies and variances.
- Generate royalty statements and ensure timely processing of payments to licensors.
- Review and monitor contract provisions, including royalty rates and reporting requirements.
- Maintain documentation supporting royalty calculations and accounting conclusions.
- Collaborate with teams to address royalty reporting and contract-related inquiries.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement internal control enhancements.
- Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience in an industry setting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
- Understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
- Experience with royalty accounting, licensing agreements, or accrual accounting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is preferred.
- Knowledge of licensing-based industries, including apparel or consumer products.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
