Job Description

Overview

  • Provide strategic communications and media relations support during key events like Climate Week and World Economic Forum.
  • Serve as a key leader on the Communications team, managing projects and partnerships with senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies to advance organizational goals and public profile.
  • Cultivate relationships with media stakeholders to secure impactful coverage and amplify advocacy campaigns.
  • Create and manage project systems to track and deliver timely media relations activities and milestones.
  • Collaborate across teams to produce media content, reports, and daily media clip emails.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support conferences and media events.
  • Act as a spokesperson and thought partner for external amplification strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead outreach with Program Communications Directors to develop narratives around key moments.
  • Design and oversee multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely execution.
  • Research and write briefing materials, press releases, and talking points in consultation with teams.
  • Develop and execute strategic media relations plans aligned with broader communication strategies.
  • Deliver media interviews and events to advance programmatic and policy goals.
  • Cultivate relationships with journalists and producers across diverse subject areas.
  • Direct public relations and communications agencies supporting media efforts.
  • Track engagement metrics and contribute to internal reports.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public policy, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in strategic communications or media relations roles.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and multilateral policies, climate change, philanthropy, and catalytic capital.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience advising executive leadership and leading teams.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in sensitive situations.
