Job Description

Overview

  • Lead business development initiatives within a high-growth financial services firm, focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the wealth management sector.
  • Serve as the primary contact for senior RIA principals, cultivating trust and driving acquisition processes effectively.
  • Manage complex, long-cycle transactions independently, ensuring smooth progression from initial engagement to deal closure.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business owners and centers of influence.
  • Originate new acquisition opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting and pipeline management.
  • Utilize CRM tools for effective tracking and management of acquisition pipelines and relationship portfolios.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the organization by identifying and converting high-value acquisition targets.
  • Participate in shaping the future of wealth management through impactful business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead assigned transactions as Deal Lead, managing the process from initial engagement to Letter of Intent (LOI).
  • Deliver valuations, address objections, and guide sellers through complex acquisition processes independently.
  • Build and maintain relationships with RIA principals and centers of influence, serving as their primary contact.
  • Drive outbound prospecting efforts to identify and engage potential acquisition targets.
  • Manage active pipelines and nurture portfolios simultaneously, ensuring consistent progress and outcomes.
  • Resolve seller-side objections and deal complexities independently, minimizing escalations to senior leadership.
  • Maintain proficiency in CRM platforms, leveraging them for effective pipeline and relationship management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of acquisition strategies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in M&A, wealth management, or enterprise B2B sales.
  • Preferred 10 years of experience in relevant roles within financial services or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex deal processes and deliver results.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, with DealCloud familiarity being a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfort with financial data analysis, including reading P&L statements and basic valuation modeling.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as required for the role.
