Job Description

Overview

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for pharmacy operations at a healthcare facility.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish effective pharmacy protocols.
  • Manage inventory systems to ensure accurate stocking and medication availability.
  • Train and mentor pharmacy staff on advanced systems and workflows.
  • Provide interim leadership during critical operational phases, including facility startups.
  • Participate in decision-making processes to enhance pharmacy services.
  • Support the facility’s mission by ensuring high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy protocols to optimize patient care and safety.
  • Manage medication inventory and approve orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Train staff on pharmacy systems, ensuring operational proficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to align pharmacy operations with organizational goals.
  • Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics meetings to contribute to policy development.
  • Provide on-call support to address urgent pharmacy needs outside regular hours.
  • Ensure readiness for facility launch, including setup and compliance checks.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with active pharmacist licensure.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital or healthcare pharmacy operations.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy systems such as HCS and Omnicell preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and operational workflows.
  • Experience in behavioral healthcare settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday, with on-call availability.
  • Compliance with credentialing requirements, including background checks and drug screening.
  • Adaptability to new environments and commitment to operational excellence.
