Overview
- Serve as Assistant Controller in a leading healthcare organization, ensuring financial health and stability through effective accounting practices.
- Collaborate with various departments to oversee transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Contribute to audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance efforts to uphold organizational standards.
- Supervise general ledger management and allocations for subsidiary facilities.
- Analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and key accounts to support informed decision-making.
- Participate in project reporting for profit entities, HUD mortgages, and other regulatory requirements.
- Engage in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with opportunities for professional growth.
- Work closely with the Controller to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise the General Ledger department, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial processes.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams for seamless transaction management.
- Prepare and review monthly financial packages, including consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist in year-end and state audits, including Medicaid, sales tax, and property tax reviews.
- Analyze income statements and balance sheets to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Generate regulatory reports and project documentation for profit entities and HUD mortgages.
- Support technical accounting initiatives and for-profit reporting requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in healthcare organizations.
- Proficiency in Workday and advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Strong technical accounting skills and experience with general ledger management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage high-volume workloads effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships across all organizational levels.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
- CPA certification or MBA preferred but not required.
