Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as Assistant Controller in a leading healthcare organization, ensuring financial health and stability through effective accounting practices.
  • Collaborate with various departments to oversee transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Contribute to audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance efforts to uphold organizational standards.
  • Supervise general ledger management and allocations for subsidiary facilities.
  • Analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and key accounts to support informed decision-making.
  • Participate in project reporting for profit entities, HUD mortgages, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Work closely with the Controller to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise the General Ledger department, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial processes.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams for seamless transaction management.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial packages, including consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist in year-end and state audits, including Medicaid, sales tax, and property tax reviews.
  • Analyze income statements and balance sheets to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Generate regulatory reports and project documentation for profit entities and HUD mortgages.
  • Support technical accounting initiatives and for-profit reporting requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in healthcare organizations.
  • Proficiency in Workday and advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and experience with general ledger management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage high-volume workloads effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • CPA certification or MBA preferred but not required.
