Job Description

Overview

  • Lead mechanical engineering efforts for high-reliability systems in a contract-based role.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, analyze, and test mechanical components.
  • Utilize advanced CAD tools and engineering analysis methods to optimize designs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to product development from concept through production phases.
  • Focus on reliability, performance, and continuous improvement in designs.
  • Work onsite in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Support environmental and performance testing for validation and verification.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and validate mechanical designs using CAD tools and simulation methods.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and ensure manufacturability of designs.
  • Collaborate with electrical and manufacturing teams for hardware integration.
  • Conduct environmental and performance testing to meet regulatory standards.
  • Manage product development timelines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Apply knowledge of RF, EMI/EMC considerations in hardware design.
  • Support high-rate production environments and in-house manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA certification processes and standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical/electromechanical design and testing.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools like Creo or SolidWorks and FEA/CFD methods.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and hardware development.
  • Experience with electronic board assembly design and thermal management solutions.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, DFM, and DFA principles for production-ready designs.
  • Familiarity with FAA certification processes and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
