Overview

  • Drive innovation in embedded systems development, contributing to advanced autonomous and unmanned technologies in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, prototype, and deploy embedded software solutions for complex systems.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand mission requirements and deliver tailored, high-performance solutions.
  • Utilize rapid prototyping and iterative development to refine software from concept to deployment.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and future platform development, ensuring alignment with industry advancements.
  • Support field testing, demonstrations, and evaluations to validate system performance and reliability.
  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation, software design artifacts, and deployment procedures.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead the design and development of embedded software solutions, ensuring seamless integration with hardware and systems engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborate with customers and operators to gather feedback and refine software capabilities for enhanced user experience.
  • Architect and implement flight control and ground control software for autonomous systems.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to advance product capabilities and research initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenges in hardware-software integration, ensuring system reliability.
  • Develop and maintain testing frameworks, simulation environments, and validation processes to ensure software quality.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and implement corrective actions to optimize functionality.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software development; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming and familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Experience with embedded communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills for complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel occasionally within the United States for field testing and demonstrations.
