Job Description

Project Safety Administrator Overview

  • The Project Safety Administrator ensures compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs and promotes a culture of safety on construction sites.
  • Educates project teams on EH&S policies, procedures, and safe work practices to ensure adherence.
  • Collaborates with subcontractors and trade employees to develop and implement safety programs.
  • Conducts pre-construction planning meetings and safety orientations for new employees.
  • Evaluates subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Performs safety audits, identifies violations, and recommends corrective actions to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintains detailed safety records and provides regular reports to supervisors.
  • Supports the development of comprehensive safety training programs tailored to project requirements.

Project Safety Administrator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Educate construction teams on EH&S programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Promote safe work practices and adherence to Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor safety programs for completeness and compliance.
  • Conduct pre-construction planning meetings and job hazard analysis reviews.
  • Coordinate and administer effective worker orientation programs for new employees.
  • Maintain logs of safety meetings and provide detailed reports to supervisors.
  • Conduct safety audits, recommend corrective actions, and ensure immediate resolution of violations.
  • Evaluate training needs and recommend safety training programs to subcontractors.

Project Safety Administrator Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications in safety management preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction safety administration; 3 years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in conducting safety audits, training sessions, and compliance evaluations.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective safety programs and policies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
  • Experience in maintaining detailed safety records and preparing comprehensive reports.
