Senior Planner, Materials Manager Overview
- The Senior Planner, Materials Manager will oversee material availability for internal and external manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop material strategies and ensure reliable supply chain operations.
- Support the organization’s mission to advance RNAi therapeutics for improving patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and maintain strong cross-departmental relationships.
- Optimize inventory performance and manage raw material inventory to balance service and risk.
- Analyze data to improve planning accuracy and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work in a hybrid environment with opportunities for onsite collaboration and flexible scheduling.
Senior Planner, Materials Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and manage material plans in alignment with manufacturing schedules and MRP requirements.
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for commercial and development products.
- Create and manage purchase requisitions and orders for direct materials.
- Monitor SAP transactions and material flow to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Support new material launches and communicate material status updates to stakeholders.
- Perform scenario planning and reporting to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve supply and invoice issues.
- Optimize safety stock, reorder points, and replenishment parameters for reliable supply.
Senior Planner, Materials Manager Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field is required.
- 4–7 years of experience in supply chain planning, materials management, or related roles.
- Proficiency in SAP, Power BI, and advanced Excel skills including macros and VBA.
- Strong understanding of GMP principles and pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing processes.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt and APICS certification preferred.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage risk and improve planning accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Comfortable working with incomplete data and making informed assumptions.
