Warehouse Manager Overview
- The Warehouse Manager oversees overnight operations in a fast-paced food distribution facility.
- Lead a team of 40 employees to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Manage operations in a 160,000 sq ft temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
- Ensure compliance with FDA/USDA regulations, HACCP, and cold-chain management standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize nightly KPIs and operational efficiency.
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and real-time problem-solving on the warehouse floor.
- Drive performance through incentive programs and nightly contests.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment for all employees.
- Report directly to the Warehouse Director and ensure seamless shift transitions.
Warehouse Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and manage a team of 40 employees across various warehouse functions.
- Ensure 100% accuracy and on-time departure of customer orders.
- Monitor and improve KPIs such as order accuracy, labor efficiency, and safety metrics.
- Conduct safety huddles and end-of-shift recaps to maintain operational standards.
- Resolve equipment breakdowns, inventory issues, and staffing gaps promptly.
- Oversee voice-pick systems, RF technology, and incentive pay programs.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and temperature control standards consistently.
- Collaborate with transportation, QA, and inventory control teams for seamless operations.
- Prepare detailed shift reports and ensure clean handoffs to day management.
Warehouse Manager Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of night-shift warehouse leadership experience in food distribution.
- Proven success managing high-volume selecting and loading operations.
- Strong knowledge of voice-pick systems, FDA/USDA regulations, and HACCP standards.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet operational demands.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate of Applied Science (AAS) required.
