• The Design Build MEP Coordinator will oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for cold storage and food processing projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive MEP plans and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and project specifications through design reviews.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize system performance and cost efficiency.
• Manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards during construction phases.
• Implement quality control measures, conducting inspections and commissioning procedures for MEP systems.
• Stay updated on building codes and regulations to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary liaison for MEP-related inquiries, fostering positive client relationships.
• Promote continuous improvement in MEP coordination processes and methodologies.

Design Build MEP Coordinator Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop MEP plans.
• Review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs for compliance and specifications.
• Assist in procurement by selecting appropriate MEP equipment and materials.
• Oversee subcontractors, resolving technical issues and ensuring project schedules are met.
• Conduct inspections and tests to verify MEP systems' functionality and quality.

Design Build MEP Coordinator Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP coordination, preferably in design-build environments.
• Proficiency in CAD or Revit for clash detection and design reviews.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and integration principles.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for engaging with teams and clients.
• Familiarity with Lean construction principles and BIM methodologies is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is beneficial but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure timely delivery.
