Senior Accountant Overview

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Calculate and manage Gross-to-Net accounting, ensuring accurate deductions, rebates, and returns.
  • Lead month-end close processes, reconciling revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX controls and SEC reporting requirements for audit-ready financial statements.
  • Monitor third-party logistics data to ensure operational accuracy and data integrity.
  • Analyze product returns and research unauthorized units issued as free goods.
  • Collaborate with the Trade Team to address customer accounts receivable matters.
  • Calculate intercompany transfer pricing revenue related to R&D activities.
  • Provide data for annual budgets and rolling forecasts to the FP&A team.
  • Manage global time-tracking systems to ensure accurate internal reporting and capitalization.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in revenue recognition or GTN accounting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, time-tracking software, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting standards.
  • Ability to reconcile complex data sets from multiple sources effectively.
  • Comfortable collaborating across departments and with external auditors.
  • Experience in a high-compliance environment within the life sciences industry is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to support operational efficiency.
