- Serve as a liaison between tax professionals, administrative staff, and clients regarding scheduling matters.
- Provide critical support to the tax department during peak filing seasons and compliance cycles.
Tax Scheduler Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate scheduling and assignment of tax returns, extensions, and projects across the team.
- Monitor tax deadlines and communicate upcoming due dates to team members proactively.
- Schedule client meetings, tax planning sessions, and internal review discussions effectively.
- Generate and distribute workflow, production, and capacity reports to stakeholders.
- Assist with tax season staffing plans and adjust schedules based on workload demands.
- Coordinate intake of client documents and ensure proper routing to team members.
- Follow up with tax professionals regarding engagement status and completion targets.

Tax Scheduler Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling, project coordination, or administrative roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Familiarity with workflow and practice management systems such as CCH Axcess or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a CPA firm or professional services environment is highly desirable.
