Assistant Vice President, Deal Operations Overview

  • The Assistant Vice President, Deal Operations oversees private deal investment accounting and operational activities within a dynamic investment management environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate recording of deal activities and investment lifecycle events in accounting systems.
  • Facilitate deal fundings, cash positioning, and hedging to support investment operations effectively.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, enhancing workflows and operational efficiency across teams.
  • Develop and manage team resources, fostering professional growth and process improvement.
  • Monitor and forecast cash balances, ensuring availability for transactions and preventing overdrafts.
  • Establish KPIs and SLAs to measure and improve processes, ensuring high success rates.
  • Identify and mitigate process risks, implementing effective solutions for operational challenges.

Assistant Vice President, Deal Operations Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Translate deal documents into accurate accounting records, ensuring compliance with accounting requirements.
  • Record investment proceeds, including principal, interest, paydowns, and sales, in accounting systems.
  • Process deal lifecycle events such as credit events, reorganizations, amendments, and exits accurately.
  • Manage cash movements through complex legal entity structures, ensuring proper booking.
  • Coordinate funding and closing of private deal transactions within tight timelines.
  • Stage FX orders for cash raising and currency risk hedging.
  • Forecast cash balances and monitor accounts to prevent overdrafts.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance private deal workflows.
  • Develop and manage team resources, establishing KPIs and SLAs for process improvement.

Assistant Vice President, Deal Operations Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, with 10 years preferred, in investment operations or accounting.
  • Strong expertise in private deal investment accounting and operational workflows.
  • Proficiency in managing cash movements and forecasting balances across complex structures.
  • Ability to establish KPIs and SLAs, driving continuous process improvement.
  • Experience in cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder collaboration.
