Job Description

Technical Trainer Overview

  • The Technical Trainer role involves delivering innovative technology training to attorneys and staff, ensuring confidentiality and fostering positive relationships within the organization.
  • Develop and implement creative training materials, including course outlines, exercises, and self-guided learning tools for diverse technology topics.
  • Collaborate with IT management and administrative teams to design training strategies tailored to organizational needs.
  • Provide proactive support and troubleshooting for end-user applications, including Microsoft 365, iManage Work 10, Adobe Acrobat, and mobile applications.
  • Maintain and update documentation such as user guides, quick reference cards, and FAQs to support user learning.
  • Evaluate and test new software to ensure compatibility and usability within the organization.
  • Support Help Desk staff with advanced troubleshooting and provide training on complex applications.
  • Contribute to the organization’s intranet by writing and updating content, including daily tips and FAQs.
  • Ensure training materials and office supplies are well-maintained and readily available for training sessions.

Technical Trainer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deliver technology training through various methods, including classroom sessions, one-on-one coaching, e-learning, and multimedia approaches.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials, including guides, exercises, and instructional content.
  • Collaborate with IT and administrative teams to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for end-user applications and assist Help Desk staff with complex issues.
  • Evaluate new software and technologies to ensure effective integration into the organization’s systems.
  • Maintain and update documentation to support user learning and enhance accessibility of training resources.
  • Contribute to the organization’s intranet by creating and updating content relevant to user needs.
  • Ensure training materials and office conditions are organized and conducive to effective learning.
  • Participate in training sessions during non-standard hours as required to meet organizational needs.

Technical Trainer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a focus on technology or training preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in technology training within professional services; law firm experience is advantageous.
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365, Windows 11, document management systems, and legal-specific applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to create technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in iOS and iPad OS devices and experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to excellence and customer service, with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays, as required.
