Tax Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead tax compliance, planning, and reporting processes for diverse client portfolios.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize financial outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business expansion and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.

Tax Manager Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax operations within mid-size to small firms.
  • Preferred 10 years of experience, showcasing advanced expertise in tax management.
  • CPA certification preferred; EA certification is also acceptable.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills to supervise and mentor staff.
  • Excellent analytical skills to develop effective tax strategies and identify opportunities.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid schedule, with flexibility outside of busy seasons.
