Collections Specialist Overview

Collections Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Produce A/R aging and delinquency reports using applicable systems.
  • Document customer accounts with collection notes and next steps.
  • Make outbound collection calls professionally while maintaining customer relations.
  • Resolve client billing issues and reduce delinquency rates effectively.
  • Identify and address issues causing account delinquency.
  • Monitor assigned accounts and applicable collection reports regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with management to discuss and resolve account issues.

Collections Specialist Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree preferred, with relevant coursework in finance or accounting.
  • Minimum of three years of collections experience; four years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with cloud-based software such as NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a multi-function environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer interactions.
  • Ability to work onsite during standard business hours in a team-oriented setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
