Manager of Cash Applications Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee daily cash application processes, ensuring accurate posting of payments to tenant accounts.
• Manage receipt intake from various sources, ensuring payments are applied per remittance advice or system logic.
• Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and ensuring ledger accuracy.
• Lead and mentor staff, setting performance goals and implementing process improvements.
• Collaborate with Lease Administration, Treasury, Accounting, and IT to optimize workflows and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Serve as the primary contact for tenant inquiries related to payment activity and portal support.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOPs, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation.

Manager of Cash Applications Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or accounting.
• Preferred 3+ years of supervisory experience, including managing third-party resources.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as MRI, Yardi, or JD Edwards, with experience in system implementation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with REIT operations and real estate finance, including lease structures and billing cycles.
• Ability to manage high-volume cash receipts in a multi-entity environment.
