Senior Accountant Overview
- The Senior Accountant will oversee accounting and cash management across multiple entities, including a large foundation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Manage reconciliations, capital call calculations, and cash flow analyses with precision and discretion.
- Support tax workpaper preparation and ensure accurate documentation for audits.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and standardize workflows across entities.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, brokerage, and investment accounts across multiple entities.
- Prepare wire transfer requests with supporting documentation and route for signature.
- Calculate capital calls and member contributions/distributions for partnerships and LLCs.
- Analyze cash flow and liquidity to determine funds available for investments and spending.
- Enter and reconcile K-1s and other tax documents into the accounting system.
- Prepare tax workpapers for partnerships, trusts, and foundations.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation in shared entity folders.
- Support foundation-specific compliance requirements, including grant tracking and Form 990-PF preparation.
- Assist with ad hoc requests from CFO, Controller, Manager, and external advisors.
Senior Accountant Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a family office setting.
- Proficiency in general ledger systems and financial software applications.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in high-volume environments.
- Experience with tax workpapers and compliance for partnerships and foundations.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal and external teams.
- Familiarity with grant tracking and minimum distribution requirements for charitable entities.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Preferred 7 years of experience in accounting roles with managerial responsibilities.
