Medical Assistant Float Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform pre-visit planning and manage provider schedules for efficient workflows.
- Obtain and record medical history and vital signs accurately.
- Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments.
- Collect specimens and conduct point-of-care testing.
- Administer medications under the direction of healthcare providers.
- Document patient information and quality measures in EHR and EMR systems.
- Maintain quality control standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support patient engagement and deliver outstanding customer service.
Medical Assistant Float Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of Medical Assistant training preferred.
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
- Experience in phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration preferred.
- Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and value-based care models.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EHR/EMR systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
