Medical Assistant Overview
- As a Medical Assistant, you will be integral to the Clinical Care Team, ensuring patient well-being and delivering exceptional healthcare services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to perform administrative and clinical tasks in a primary care setting.
- Engage with patients to collect medical history, vital signs, and assist in medical procedures.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health record systems to maintain quality standards.
- Administer medications and perform specimen collection under healthcare provider supervision.
- Support the team in achieving HEDIS and Stars quality measures through precise documentation.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by delivering outstanding customer service and engagement.
- Work in a structured schedule, ensuring efficient workflow and patient satisfaction.
Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform pre-visit planning and manage provider schedules for optimized workflow.
- Obtain and record patient medical history and vital signs accurately.
- Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures, treatments, and patient care.
- Prepare and administer medications under healthcare provider direction.
- Conduct specimen collection and point-of-care testing efficiently.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in EHR and EMR systems.
- Maintain established quality control standards in all clinical tasks.
- Provide bilingual communication support, if applicable, to enhance patient interactions.
Medical Assistant Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of MA training program preferred.
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- CPR certification and compliance with TB screening requirements.
- Experience in phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration preferred.
- Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and value-based care practices advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Strong documentation skills in EHR/EMR systems essential.
- Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
