Job Description

Principal Investigator Overview

  • The Principal Investigator will oversee clinical research activities, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.
  • This contract position involves part-time work, approximately one day per week, in a clinical setting.
  • Candidates should have expertise in Alzheimer’s, dementia, or related neurodegenerative disorders.
  • The role requires conducting and supervising research while safeguarding participant welfare.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to federal regulations, state laws, and company policies.
  • The position offers opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with a dedicated research team.
  • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred to facilitate communication with diverse populations.
  • This role may transition to full-time based on performance and organizational needs.

Principal Investigator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct and supervise clinical research activities, ensuring protocol adherence and participant safety.
  • Perform study-related procedures, including physical exams, informed consent, and health assessments.
  • Review and adjudicate lab, imaging, and biopsy findings for study participants.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts and provide guidance to Sub-Investigators and the recruitment team.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and IRB-approved plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality of study sponsor and clinical trial data.
  • Provide weekend and after-hours coverage as needed to support study visits.
  • Assist in preparing for study monitor visits and audits.

Principal Investigator Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and current physician license in Texas.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience; prior research experience preferred.
  • Board certification is preferred for this position.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based enterprise solutions software.
  • Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to biological fluids and pathogens.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally for domestic or international assignments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in research activities.
