Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and develop HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, fans, ductwork, pumps, and pipes.
- Perform cooling and heating load calculations using industry-standard software tools.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and standards, such as IMC and NFPA.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Write and edit specifications to support project requirements and documentation.
- Utilize Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit for detailed mechanical design and visualization.
- Engage in problem-solving and innovation to address unique project challenges.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
Mechanical Engineer Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in equipment sizing, selection, and load calculation software like Trane Trace and Carrier HAPS.
- Knowledge of building codes and standards, including IMC and NFPA.
- Experience with chilled water plants, boilers, and combined heating and cooling plants.
- Competency in Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit for mechanical design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
