Job Description

Superintendent Overview

  • The Superintendent will oversee multifamily construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion.
  • Manage field operations from preconstruction to project completion, coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
  • Lead day-to-day site activities, maintaining project schedules and resolving conflicts proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to develop and maintain schedules and documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections, meetings, and site walks to ensure project progress and address concerns.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including subcontractors, owners, and consultants.
  • Mentor and develop field personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.

Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and manage field operations for multifamily construction projects, ensuring safety and quality.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and site personnel to maintain project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain short-term schedules in coordination with project management teams.
  • Monitor project progress and address potential delays or conflicts proactively.
  • Review project documents to ensure accurate and compliant work performance.
  • Coordinate major trades, including sitework, concrete, framing, MEP, and finishes.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to address quality and safety concerns.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including commissioning and warranty processes.

Superintendent Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction field experience, preferably with multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in construction technology and project management software like Procore or Bluebeam.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
