Job Description

Development Coordinator Overview

  • The Development Coordinator supports major and principal gift fundraising efforts, ensuring efficient donor cultivation and stewardship processes.
  • Collaborates with regional gift officers on donor identification, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Provides administrative support, including calendar management and travel planning, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Manages donor relationships and maintains detailed records in CRM systems.
  • Supports special donor events, retreats, and meetings, ensuring successful execution and guest engagement.
  • Represents the organization professionally to donors, board members, and the public.
  • Contributes to financial accountability, including expense tracking and budget preparation.
  • Promotes inclusion and collaboration within teams, aligning with organizational values.

Development Coordinator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist in preparing fundraising proposals, presentations, and grant submissions for donors and prospects.
  • Coordinate and support donor events, tracking guest lists and managing RSVPs.
  • Provide executive support, including calendar management and travel arrangements.
  • Handle donor inquiries and manage communications, including emails and pledge reminders.
  • Track budgets, reconcile expenses, and prepare financial reports.
  • Support system processes, including CRM usage and training new hires.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data to support development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure proper handling of gift documentation.

Development Coordinator Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Experience in fundraising or donor relations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
