Electrical Engineering Manager Overview

  • The Electrical Engineering Manager will lead and develop a high-performing engineering team in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • This role combines technical responsibilities with leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to ensure project success.
  • Contribute directly to schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware development while maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, systems, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable hardware solutions.
  • Ensure electrical designs integrate effectively across subsystems and meet program requirements.
  • Establish engineering processes, design standards, and best practices to improve team effectiveness and product quality.
  • Provide technical leadership during design reviews, troubleshooting, testing, and hardware development.
  • Drive engineering development across power electronics, motor drives, embedded computing, and networking subsystems.

Electrical Engineering Manager Job Requirements

  • Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience, with direct management or leadership roles.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Strong technical expertise in power electronics, motor drivers, embedded computing, and networking.
  • Experience leading engineering within a matrixed organization and collaborating across teams.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools.
  • Experience taking hardware from concept through production and deployment.
  • Familiarity with MIL-SPEC or environmental qualification standards for field-deployed hardware.
