Senior Vice President, Fund Accounting Overview

  • The Senior Vice President, Fund Accounting role offers an exciting opportunity to lead fund accounting operations for a global fund administrator.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and oversee fund accounting processes for real estate and real assets clients.
  • Collaborate with executive teams and business development to enhance client relationships and service offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, KPIs, and service level agreements across fund accounting operations.
  • Lead a team of accounting professionals, focusing on training, development, and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to risk management programs and quality assurance initiatives specific to real estate fund accounting.
  • Participate in SOC 1 audits and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Senior Vice President, Fund Accounting Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead fund accounting and operations teams for North America real estate and real assets clients.
  • Provide industry expertise and technical accounting knowledge to clients and internal teams.
  • Develop operating plans, assess client servicing needs, and implement technology solutions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of client reports and ad hoc requests.
  • Coordinate onboarding and transition plans for new client integrations.
  • Oversee staffing, hiring, and training for fund accounting and shared services teams.
  • Participate in risk and quality assurance programs specific to real estate offerings.
  • Contribute to SOC 1 audits and ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory standards.

Senior Vice President, Fund Accounting Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of fund accounting experience, with 5-10 years in real estate investment accounting.
  • Proficiency in partnership agreements, NAV packages, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate fund structures, investment accounting rules, and tax reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Yardi software and advanced Microsoft Office tools.
  • Proven management skills in overseeing investment and asset-level accounting teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Familiarity with business planning, budgeting, and P&L management.
