Job Description

Real Estate Paralegal Overview

  • The Real Estate Paralegal will support a dynamic legal team specializing in commercial real estate transactions.
  • This role involves managing title, survey, and zoning requirements, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and other staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Prepare and record real estate and corporate documents, supporting complex transactions.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation for real estate projects and transactions.
  • Contribute to a busy practice with significant opportunities for professional growth.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of four days onsite weekly.
  • Engage in overtime and weekend work as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Meet a billable hour requirement of 1650 hours annually.

Real Estate Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee and complete all title, zoning, and survey requirements and related documentation.
  • Obtain tax numbers, bills, exemptions, and assist with tax divisions and consolidations.
  • Prepare and record real estate documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Review title commitments, supporting documents, and surveys for legal transactions.
  • Prepare, amend, modify, and terminate UCC forms as required.
  • Assemble closing binders and signature pages for real estate transactions.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation for real estate transactions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegal managers on assigned projects.
  • Ensure confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive legal information.

Real Estate Paralegal Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of paralegal experience in commercial real estate practice at a medium or large law firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of title, survey, and zoning requirements is essential.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines effectively.
  • Paralegal certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in legal matters.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet billable hour requirements.
