Interventional Technologist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform imaging, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures for cardiac and vascular conditions.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring understanding and cooperation throughout the process.
  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures, providing expert technical support.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Implement safety protocols and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Educate patients about procedures and post-procedure care to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

Interventional Technologist Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent in a health science field.
  • Certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiology (VI), Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), RCES, or RCIS.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience with interventional procedures; 1-2 years preferred.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on-site and adapt to diverse shifts and schedules.
