Primary Care Physician Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic conditions, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
- Lead a care team to deliver coordinated, patient-focused healthcare services, including education and health promotion.
- Collaborate with specialists and hospitalists to manage patient care across various settings, including hospitals and long-term care facilities.
- Maintain accurate and concise documentation using advanced healthcare technologies to support care delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management programs to enhance patient outcomes.
- Engage in recruiting efforts to expand patient panels and support organizational growth.
- Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Practitioners, ensuring compliance and accountability in patient care.
- Attend clinical and operational meetings to align with organizational goals and standards.
Primary Care Physician Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics.
- Active State Medical License and DEA number for controlled substances.
- Board certification in relevant specialty with ongoing maintenance of certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare documentation systems.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and outcomes-focused healthcare delivery.
- Ability to travel locally for patient care and nationally for training or recruitment.
- Fluency in English, with additional language skills preferred based on location needs.
