Payroll Coordinator Overview
- The Payroll Coordinator ensures accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple divisions and states, enhancing employee satisfaction and compliance.
- Collaborate with HR and local administrators to support payroll operations and benefits administration effectively.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Utilize payroll systems like iSolved to manage payroll data and employment changes seamlessly.
- Assist in onboarding processes, including pre-employment screenings and supply procurement.
- Provide exceptional service to employees by addressing payroll and HR-related inquiries promptly.
- Support union and non-union payroll operations, ensuring smooth transitions and training for local administrators.
- Contribute to a positive employee experience by maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in payroll processes.
Payroll Coordinator Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Process semi-monthly payrolls for non-union employees and weekly payrolls for union divisions using iSolved.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and assist with employment changes, including new hires and terminations.
- Support payroll tax reporting, garnishments, and compliance requirements efficiently.
- Assist with benefits administration, including 401k enrollment and union benefits processing.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Collaborate with HR to support hiring, onboarding, and training processes.
- Ensure payroll documentation aligns with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Provide guidance to local administrators on payroll systems and procedures.
Payroll Coordinator Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree required, with expertise in payroll operations and compliance.
- Minimum of 1 year of payroll experience; 3 years preferred.
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as iSolved and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills to explain payroll matters to employees and leadership.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information.
- Organizational skills to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in multi-state and unionized payroll environments is advantageous.
