Job Description

Manager, Global Logistics Overview

  • The Manager, Global Logistics will oversee global logistics and inventory management operations, ensuring compliance with GXP and trade regulations.
  • This role involves managing logistics for clinical studies, commercial supply, and international bulk material movements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimize logistics processes and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Develop and maintain shipment documentation, including Commercial Invoices, End Use Letters, and import/export permits.
  • Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and maintain accurate shipment records.
  • Provide internal customer service for shipment requests across various programs and offices.
  • Support inventory reporting, reconciliation, and financial close processes in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Manage deviations, temperature excursions, and shipment discrepancies using Veeva QMS.
  • This is a remote contract position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain or pharmaceutical logistics.

Manager, Global Logistics Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate shipments for bulk drug substances, finished goods, and samples to global sites.
  • Develop and execute shipping forecasts in collaboration with Clinical and Commercial Operations teams.
  • Prepare shipment documents, including Commercial Invoices and import/export permits.
  • Create and manage Distribution Protocols for third-party logistics providers and manufacturing organizations.
  • Maintain shipment databases and ensure accurate record-keeping of documentation and temperature results.
  • Manage deviations and discrepancies using Quality Management Systems (e.g., Veeva QMS).
  • Perform inventory transactions and monthly reconciliation within the ERP system.
  • Build and maintain relationships with carriers, 3PLs, and CMOs to ensure efficient logistics operations.
  • Ensure adherence to Global Logistics policies and applicable regulatory directives.

Manager, Global Logistics Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain or pharmaceutical/biotech logistics, with a focus on cold chain logistics.
  • Proficiency in GMP, GDP, and pharmaceutical industry regulations and procedures.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, such as Veeva QMS, is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with well-developed interpersonal abilities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage change effectively.
  • Interest in supply chain and logistics, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve results in a remote work environment.
