Registered Nurse Overview
- The Registered Nurse (RN) will play a critical role in promoting wellness and healthier lifestyles among members through education, monitoring, and intervention.
- Hybrid work schedule with in-office presence every other week, ensuring flexibility and work-life balance.
- Engage in health fairs and outreach events across various locations to enhance community health awareness.
- Administer vaccines and conduct seasonal health testing to support community health initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to address member health concerns effectively.
- Provide counseling on health benefits and connect members to appropriate resources and services.
- Utilize clinical expertise to assess, educate, and motivate members towards healthier lifestyle choices.
- Contribute to data collection and analysis for improving health outcomes and program effectiveness.
Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Screen, monitor, and educate members on acute and chronic conditions, promoting healthier lifestyle behaviors.
- Administer diagnostic tests and monitor progress through various health measurements.
- Participate in vaccination programs and seasonal health testing initiatives.
- Engage in health fairs and outreach events to promote wellness in the community.
- Educate members through in-person, virtual, and telephonic interactions, recording clinical data for analysis.
- Counsel members on health benefits and refer them to internal departments or external agencies as needed.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding member health status and care plans.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management to support department goals.
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum two years of nursing experience in ambulatory care, community health, or medical/surgical settings required.
- Proficiency in clinical assessment, patient education, and motivational interviewing essential.
- Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred to enhance communication with diverse member populations.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred for travel within the New York Metropolitan area.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making skills are essential for success in this role.
