Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessments, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications and treatments.
  • Assist physicians with clinical examinations, diagnostic testing, and procedures in a Cardiology/Neurology setting.
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical records system.
  • Coordinate referrals, testing, and follow-up appointments to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Triage patient calls and clinical concerns, ensuring appropriate communication and response.
  • Adhere to clinical, safety, infection-control, and HIPAA standards to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
  • Support physicians and clinical staff in optimizing patient flow and operational efficiency.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and an active New York State RN license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, with 3 years preferred, in outpatient or specialty settings.
  • Experience in Cardiology and/or Neurology settings is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities to ensure high-quality patient care.
