Estimator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align estimates with project goals and budgets.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide input on project planning and scheduling.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures in all estimating activities.

Estimator Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction practices, materials, and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret project specifications, drawings, and contracts effectively.
