Vice President, Fund Accounting Overview

  • The Vice President, Fund Accounting role focuses on overseeing financial accounting frameworks for complex private credit funds.
  • Lead financial oversight across hybrid fund structures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support fund operations and new product development initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and valuation for illiquid investments, including private credit and real estate assets.
  • Drive process improvements, leveraging technology to enhance operational scalability and efficiency.
  • Manage external audits, regulatory filings, and compliance reporting requirements effectively.
  • Partner with Portfolio Management and deal teams to ensure proper financial reporting treatment for transactions.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Alternatives platform, managing approximately $150 billion in diverse investment strategies.
  • Work in a dynamic, hybrid environment offering professional growth and collaboration opportunities.

Vice President, Fund Accounting Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee financial accounting and control frameworks for evergreen private credit funds.
  • Ensure accuracy in NAV production, fee calculations, and investor allocations.
  • Review and challenge financial outputs, including capital account statements and audited financials.
  • Manage fund close cycles, delivering timely and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate treasury and liquidity management activities, including capital calls and income distributions.
  • Lead external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee third-party service providers, ensuring adherence to SLAs and quality standards.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance controls and reduce operational risks.
  • Support new product launches and structural changes within the fund offerings.

Vice President, Fund Accounting Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 8–15 years of experience in fund accounting, audit, or finance within alternative asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and investment company accounting principles.
  • Experience with private credit and evergreen/open-ended fund structures preferred.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred; background in public accounting advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage audits and regulatory reporting requirements effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology for operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with high accountability and ownership.
