Job Description

Medical Assistant Overview

  • The Medical Assistant supports clinical and administrative tasks to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Assist healthcare providers in delivering population health-focused care within a collaborative team environment.
  • Work under the supervision of the Practice Administrator and Nurse Manager to ensure seamless operations.
  • Engage patients warmly, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience during their visit.
  • Utilize electronic systems for patient registration, scheduling, and documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate referrals, appointments, and follow-ups to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Perform direct patient care tasks, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and diagnostic screenings.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions and documentation.
  • Contribute to a supportive and cooperative team environment focused on patient-centered care.

Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Greet patients and guests warmly, ensuring a positive experience and addressing their needs.
  • Manage patient flow efficiently, resolving registration and scheduling issues proactively.
  • Perform accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and documentation using electronic systems.

Medical Assistant Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting required.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in ambulatory care settings.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform direct patient care tasks and administrative duties efficiently.
