Senior Conflicts Analyst Overview
- The Senior Conflicts Analyst supports risk management by conducting conflicts searches and analyzing potential conflicts of interest.
- Facilitates the clearance of new clients and matters, ensuring compliance with professional responsibility rules and firm policies.
- Collaborates with partners, lawyers, and business professionals across a global platform to support compliance functions.
- Conducts corporate and legal research to identify ownership and control structures of prospective clients.
- Supports the preparation of draft conflict waivers, consent letters, and engagement letters using firm templates.
- Maintains the accuracy and integrity of conflicts and matter databases, ensuring up-to-date records.
- Develops expertise in conflicts rules, professional responsibility concepts, and firm policies through training and experience.
- Provides after-hours conflicts and new business intake support on a rotating basis as needed.
Senior Conflicts Analyst Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct corporate and legal research to identify ownership and control structures of prospective clients.
- Perform conflicts searches and process new business intake requests using firm systems.
- Review conflicts search results, assess routine matters, and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Liaise with lawyers and stakeholders to communicate conflicts search results and obtain necessary information.
- Prepare draft conflict waivers, consent letters, and engagement letters under supervision.
- Maintain and update conflicts and matter databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Assist with administrative functions and special projects within the conflicts team.
- Provide after-hours conflicts support on a rotating basis as needed.
Senior Conflicts Analyst Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a law firm conflicts or professional responsibility department.
- Proficiency in corporate and legal research using various databases and resources.
- Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment for evaluating legal and factual relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining conflicts issues and recommending next steps.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
