Senior Project Architect Overview

  • The Senior Project Architect will lead architectural projects, focusing on urban multi-family housing developments, ensuring compliance with state and local building codes.
  • Collaborate with a high-performing team to deliver innovative solutions in new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project goals and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate technical solutions and oversee project documentation to align with design intent and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership in project scheduling, budget management, and supervision of junior staff members.
  • Utilize Revit Architecture in a shared BIM environment to produce detailed construction documents.
  • Maintain proactive communication with regulatory authorities, inspectors, and owner representatives for quality control and compliance.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the organization through collaborative teamwork and innovative architectural practices.

Senior Project Architect Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate with designers, consultants, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met efficiently.
  • Coordinate technical solutions and manage project scheduling to align with design and construction goals.
  • Supervise junior staff and oversee technical documentation to maintain project quality standards.
  • Respond to RFIs and review submittals and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and inspectors to ensure adherence to building codes and ordinances.
  • Provide design and construction administration services, focusing on exterior envelope systems and life safety features.
  • Develop construction documents with a focus on wood-frame multifamily housing projects.
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders to address challenges and ensure project success.

Senior Project Architect Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree required; Master of Architecture degree preferred.
  • Registered Architect in good standing to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience; 12 years preferred.
  • LEED Accreditation is advantageous for sustainable project development.
  • Proficiency in Revit Architecture within a shared BIM environment is required.
  • Strong knowledge of local and state building codes and ordinances.
  • Exceptional skills in scheduling, staff management, and time management.
  • Experience with wood-frame multifamily housing projects and construction documentation.
