Job Description

Medical Director – Clinical Development – Neurology Overview

  • The Medical Director will lead clinical development initiatives in neurology and neuropsychiatric indications, including sleep disorders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure projects align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
  • Engage with global regulatory authorities, scientific organizations, and key thought leaders to advance therapeutic priorities.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions on clinical development plans and indication prioritization.
  • Participate in protocol design, medical review of clinical trial data, and generation of clinical study reports.
  • Represent the client at external events, including advisory boards, investigator meetings, and medical conferences.
  • Mentor junior clinical research colleagues and contribute to business development activities as required.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, balancing office presence with remote flexibility.

Medical Director – Clinical Development – Neurology Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and execute protocols for clinical research trials in neurologic disorders.
  • Serve as the Global Clinical Lead for programs, leading clinical subteams effectively.
  • Contribute to authorship of protocols, clinical study reports, and regulatory documents.
  • Provide medical review and monitoring for Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials.
  • Engage with senior management and participate in project teams.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with investigators and thought leaders globally.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical/medical standards and industry regulations.
  • Oversee operational aspects of projects to meet time, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Critically review and contribute to regulatory interactions, including INDs and NDAs.

Medical Director – Clinical Development – Neurology Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) with board certification in Neurology.
  • Minimum of two years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with expertise in drug development.
  • Proven experience interacting with global regulatory agencies and successful NDA/BLA submissions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present to senior management.
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a matrixed work environment.
