Job Captain Overview

  • The Job Captain role focuses on delivering architectural projects from concept through construction administration.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients to develop technically sound solutions.

Job Captain Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop detailed drawings, building specifications, and project documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Review designs and calculations for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with standards.
  • Research building codes and accessibility requirements to ensure project compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to streamline project execution.
  • Prepare and submit project documentation for permitting and plan reviews.
  • Adhere to and enforce the firm’s quality control procedures throughout project phases.
  • Support project managers in managing multiple assignments effectively.
  • Utilize tools like Bluebeam Revu and Adobe Creative Suite for enhanced project documentation.

Job Captain Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Arch.) or equivalent professional degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of architectural experience, with 7 years preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with US project delivery methods, building codes, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Smartsheet, or SketchUp is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills for effective project coordination.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel requirements.
