Senior Accounts Payable Overview

  • The Senior Accounts Payable role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a historic organization with a respected legacy and diverse coalition network.
  • This hybrid position combines on-site collaboration twice weekly with remote flexibility, ensuring a balanced work environment.
  • Engage in broad-ranging financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll coordination, and general ledger management.

Senior Accounts Payable Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, weekly payments, and maintain vendor records and documentation.
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards and support DataBasics administration, training, and staff inquiries.
  • Coordinate biweekly payroll and prepare related journal entries in collaboration with People & Culture.
  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts, process bank activity, and maintain cash and receivable records.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany, prepaids, and fixed assets.
  • Support month-end close processes and ensure timely preparation of accurate financial statements.
  • Assist with year-end close, external audits, and Form 990 preparation, including related schedules and documentation.
  • Contribute to grant reporting, budgeting, and other finance initiatives as assigned.

Senior Accounts Payable Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounts payable roles; 12 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable, payroll coordination, and general ledger management.
  • Strong knowledge of audit compliance, grant reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with on-site collaboration twice weekly.
  • Experience with DataBasics administration and corporate credit card reconciliation.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to a 90-day contract period with potential for extension.
  • Educational background in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
