Regional Director Laboratory Services Overview

  • The Regional Director Laboratory Services oversees clinical laboratory operations, ensuring compliance, quality, and efficiency across multiple units and departments.
  • Develops strategies for aligning laboratory services with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, fostering operational excellence and patient safety.
  • Leads initiatives to improve laboratory processes, enhance service quality, and optimize resource utilization for cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to align laboratory operations with organizational goals and community health concerns.
  • Provides leadership in talent development, recruitment, and performance management to maintain a highly skilled workforce.
  • Champions innovative methodologies and technologies to advance laboratory testing capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Ensures compliance with CAP/CLIA accreditation standards and oversees proficiency testing and quality assurance programs.

Regional Director Laboratory Services Key Responsibilities & Duties

Regional Director Laboratory Services Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, healthcare, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in medical technology or clinical laboratory sciences; 15 years preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of leadership experience in healthcare or laboratory operations.
  • Proficiency in CAP/CLIA accreditation management and clinical laboratory bench work competency.
  • Experience with labor management partnerships and national laboratory coordination initiatives.
  • Technical Supervisor Certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance, compliance management, and proficiency testing oversight.
  • Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, operational excellence, and strategic leadership.
