CAD Administrator Overview
- The CAD Administrator will manage Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer systems, ensuring optimal functionality and user support.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and IT staff to enhance design workflows and productivity.
- Provide technical support and training to improve user proficiency and adherence to CAD standards.
- Administer software updates, patches, and licensing compliance for Bentley applications.
- Promote best practices and consistency across multidisciplinary teams and office locations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline workflows.
- Monitor emerging technologies and trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of firmwide CAD standards and procedures.
CAD Administrator Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer environments, including workspace configurations and standards management.
- Troubleshoot software issues and provide day-to-day technical support for engineering staff.
- Develop documentation, standards, and training materials for CAD systems.
- Lead training sessions and one-on-one coaching to enhance user proficiency.
- Implement software updates and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with teams to streamline production workflows and improve deliverable quality.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement.
- Assist with integration of Bentley applications and ProjectWise systems.
CAD Administrator Job Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience administering Bentley MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer environments.
- Strong understanding of workspace configurations, feature definitions, and standards management.
- Experience with Bentley CONNECT applications; familiarity with ProjectWise is a plus.
- Knowledge of civil engineering, transportation, or infrastructure project workflows preferred.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving for CAD systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with VBA, PowerShell, Python, or automation tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with DOT standards and CAD best practices preferred.
