• The Accounting Manager oversees financial reporting, cost analysis, and reconciliations for assigned business areas, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with operations and finance teams to analyze spending variances and provide financial impact summaries.
• Manages fixed assets within SAP modules and supports external audits with detailed schedules and reports.
• Develops annual budgets and monthly forecasts, maintaining updates in BPC systems as required.
• Ensures adherence to accounting policies, documenting procedures for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Interfaces with senior management, external auditors, and operational departments to achieve organizational goals.
• Handles confidential information responsibly, requiring occasional overtime during reporting deadlines.
• Supports quality systems and compliance initiatives, ensuring timely completion of QA, HR, and EH&S procedures.

Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Post monthly journal entries and analyze variances in costs, identifying trends and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare financial analyses and summaries for management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing and correcting variances as needed.
• Collaborate with operational departments to develop budgets and forecasts, maintaining updates in financial systems.
• Maintain fixed assets within SAP modules, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
• Provide requested schedules to external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
• Document policies, procedures, and controls for Sarbanes-Oxley implementation.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and standards, escalating issues to appropriate parties.

Accounting Manager Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, with 7-10 years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in SAP or Tier I ERP systems, Excel, and Word essential.
• Strong analytical abilities and financial orientation, with excellent communication skills.
• Experience in manufacturing preferred; CPA or CMA certification a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential information and meet financial reporting deadlines.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and quality systems required.
• Organizational effectiveness and relationship-building skills to achieve business goals.
