Licensed Practical Nurse (Contract) Overview

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role focuses on providing exceptional care to residents and patients within a healthcare facility.
  • This position operates on a 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. shift schedule with rotating weekends.
  • The LPN will ensure patient safety and satisfaction through diligent care practices and adherence to healthcare standards.
  • The role includes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, reporting to the Registered Nurse/Clinical Care Manager.
  • This is a contract position requiring a minimum commitment of three shifts per week.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with a geriatric population, providing compassionate and professional care.
  • The position requires a valid NYS LPN license and certifications in BCLS and IV administration.

Licensed Practical Nurse (Contract) Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and patients, ensuring adherence to healthcare standards and protocols.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining accurate documentation of all procedures.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the Registered Nurse/Clinical Care Manager promptly.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans for residents and patients.
  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, supervising and supporting nursing staff during shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to maintain professional development.
  • Provide compassionate and respectful care to the geriatric population, addressing their unique needs.
  • Commit to working every other weekend as part of the rotating schedule.

Licensed Practical Nurse (Contract) Job Requirements

  • Valid NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is required.
  • Completion of an approved program in practical nursing is mandatory.
  • Certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and IV administration are essential.
  • Previous experience working with a geriatric population is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement.
  • Commitment to working every other weekend is required for this role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and staff effectively.
